Cervical cancer has long been a frightening disease for women. It was not surprising, given that thousands of women die every year from cervical cancer. Until 1940, cervical cancer is the leading cause of death in women ( Krebs , 2000). Cervical cancer, as its name suggests, attacked the female sex organs , exactly at the entrance of the cervix or uterine body is a narrow region between the body of the uterus and vagina.
Cause of Cervical Cancer
Cervical cancer is caused by HPV ( Human Papilloma Virus ) . Which caused many deaths of women is HPV types 16 and 18. The virus is easily spread , especially through the fluid . Cervical cancer is caused by :
1. unhealthy lifestyle , such as lack of consumption of foods containing vitamin C and vitamin E , smoking , and consumption of folic acid less
2. sexual intercourse with a partner of different
3. sexual intercourse with men who often come and go pairs
4. sexual intercourse at an early age ( less than 16 years )
Characteristics and Symptoms of Cervical Cancer
Developing cervical cancer takes 10 to 20 years . Cervical cancer develops from an infection in the cervix . Therefore , cervical cancer is difficult to detect early. Medical experts commonly use PAP SMEAR inspection , test visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA ) etc .
Although cervical cancer is quite difficult in the early detection , but the following characteristics can be used as a guide for women if she has the risk of cervical cancer symptoms or not :
1. Always feel pain during sexual intercourse (may be bleeding ) .
2. Discharge abnormal and excessive in number , sometimes accompanied by bleeding
3. Hips are often hurt
4. When urination ache
5. When menstruation, blood coming out a lot and excessive
How To Prevent Cervical Cancer ?
There are several things that can be done in an effort to prevent cervical cancer , namely :
1. Living a healthy lifestyle
2. Maintain cleanliness of the body and the environment
3. Clean the intimate with clean water
4. Not having sexual intercourse early age
5. Faithful to couples
6. Perform routine checks
7. Vaccination
